Rodent Prevention Tips

●To keep out all sorts of rodents, make sure each hole is larger than a dime and gaps wider than a sealed pencil with silicone-based caulk, steel wool, or other building materials.

●Install a mesh cover over chimneys and other exposed openings and ensure tree branches are cut 6 to 8 feet from the roof.

●Store food in sealed glass or metal containers and remove food debris which can attract different types of rodents.

●Inspect items such as boxes, grocery bags, and other packages brought home.

●Keep attics, basements, and crawl spaces well-ventilated and dry.

●Store firewood at least 20 feet from the house and keep lawns, vegetation and cultivated areas well-trimmed by shearing, spraying or grazing.

●If you find rodent droppings, hearing noise running in the walls, or observing other symptoms, contact a licensed professional to inspect and treat the pest problem.
